Position Summary: Position advertised: 5th March 2010
The junior sister/charge nurse should be an experienced practitioner within cancer nursing and be able to support junior staff by role modelling and mentorship.
They should be able to work autonomously as well as part of the team and have excellent communication skills.
General
Responsibility:

Taking charge of the floor on a regular basis.
Providing holistic care to cancer patients at all stages of their journey.
Administering chemotherapy.
Mentoring junior staff.
Representing the floor at various hospital groups.
Requirements NMc registered
First level registration at Diploma or Degree level.
Significant post registration experience which will be in Oncology.
Be assessed as competent in Phlebotomy, Peripheral IV Cannulation, accessing Central Lines and Administration of cytotoxics.
Teaching and Assessing and/or Mentorship qualification.
Be working towards, or have, a specialist clinical qualification.
Good organisational and management skills with the ability to flexibly respond to the needs of the department and the hospital.
