During the two week period of 19 - 30 March Paula Dozier and Samantha MacRae (UK Health Jobs) spoke and met with health professionals based in Sydney and Melbourne. They also held evening seminars for those interested in coming to work for HCA to broaden their careers and experience the vibrant city of London.
More than 50 health professionals ranging from nurses, radiographers, pharmacists and physiotherapists were able to attend the seminars which took place at Vibe Hotels (Sydney and Melbourne) on respectively 22nd and 29th March 2007.
The seminars were both opened by Samantha MacRae and Paula Dozier covered the background information on HCA International and its London hospitals, the International Recruitment department, clinical vacancies, professional registrations, and general information about life in London.
In Melbourne, a presentation was given by Kim Griffiths (Deputy Manager, Hand Therapy, Wellington Hospital) and was greatly received as she gave her experience of an Australian living in London (including photos of her travels around Europe) and being a HCA employee.
The seminars were also supported by Huw Gardner and Nathan Brewer, respective business managers from “My Key Contact”. They gave presentations on their company’s’ start-up package for new Australian arrivals in London with services that includes opening a bank account and getting a mobile phone.
The seminars ended with an open Q&A session for all the attendees, and were given HCA Hospitals promotional gifts (incl. brochures) and seminar feedback forms.
