Position Summary: Physiotherapists with the relevant experience to provide bank weekend and holiday cover for the provision of Physiotherapy services on a haematology oncology ward with 2 HDU beds for surgical patients. Physiotherapy services will include rehabilitation, respiratory care, pre and post operative physiotherapy and discharge planning.
General
Responsibility:

• To assess all HDU patients.
• To assess all referred oncology patients.
• To provide a high standard of physiotherapy care/treatment at all times, based on a sound clinical reasoning.
• To provide a rehabilitative, respiratory and pre and post op physiotherapy service.
• To use a SOAP note method of documentation, following the CSP guidelines.
• To communicate effectively within the MDT and be involved in discharge planning.
• To plan care/treatment using evidence based clinical practise.
• To communicate effectively with the referrer, after an initial assessment, if physiotherapy treatment has been clinically reasoned as not being appropriate.
• To comply with legislative and hospital policies and procedures, ensuring patient safety.

Requirements • Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy
• HPC and CSP registration
• Educated to A level standard
• Post-graduate experience in oncology and HDU/ITU surgical settings.
• Minimum of 2 years post physiotherapy qualification experience
• Health and Safety, Manual Handling and Infection control training.
