Position Summary: The Wellington Hospital is one of London’s leading providers of healthcare services to the private sector and provides comprehensive facilities for inpatient and outpatient care. The Rehabilitation Unit is a 45 bedded unit over 3 floors in the North building. We are currently looking to recruit a Ward Sister on the 4th floor. The Rehabilitation Unit caters for a variety of patients requiring Rehabilitation following Neurological event.

To perform this role you will need to have extensive post qualification experience and you will also need to be able to provide evidence of post registration further education. This full time position requires an enthusiastic, patient focused and flexible individual who will be organised and efficient with all levels of hospital staff.
General
Responsibility:

To have 24 hours, continuing responsibility for the management of the designated floor within the hospital, providing a visible and authoritative presence in a clinical setting.

To provide leadership within defined areas by acting as a positive role model who practices evidence based care, to ensure high standards of clinical care.

To keep abreast of all developments in professional nursing with particular regard to healthcare standards within the Healthcare Commission.

To be responsible for the management of all staff including healthcare assistants and receptionist staff.

To undertake general administrative duties as and when required.

Requirements Registered nurse level 1
Relevant post graduate clinical and management qualification/experience
Extensive post graduate experience
Previous experience at Ward Sister level
Previous involvement in supporting nurse education
Able to manage staff effectively
Ability to recognise clinical and managerial problems taking appropriate action
Knowledge of dealing sensitively with complaints
Ability to manage resources efficiently within budgetary constraints
Skill in prioritising workload and delegating as appropriate
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proactive and able to find solutions to problems
