Senior 1 Radiographer
Wellington Hospital

1.To skilfully provide accurate and timely diagnostic imaging to all services
2.Achieve and maintain high standards of professional practice within the Department
3.Comply with legislative and hospital/corporate policies and procedure, ensuring patient safety
4.To provide a high level of customer care, to both internal and external customers
5.To be familiar with the PACS/Meditech (RIS) software systems, inputting data as required
6.To maintain patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with HCA policies and professional Code of Conduct
7.To rotate within all areas of the Imaging Department at both The Wellington Hospital and the Wellington Diagnostics & Outpatients Centre (Golders Green) once deemed competent by relevant Superintendents
8.To undertake on call duties as required by the Imaging Department Manager
9.To undertake any surveys/audits pertinent to the department. To help prepare for and participate in HQS/CQC Inspections
10.To ensure equipment is well cared for and maintained reporting breakdowns, faults or problems to person in charge
11.To follow up on maintenance requests, ensuring all equipment is utilized efficiently, maximising available resources
12.To work as part of the Imaging Department Team, ensuring cover is provided at all times across all modalities and sites, maximising clinical efficiency
13.To keep oneself up to date with current radiographic techniques/legislation
14.To know one’s limitations and request appropriate support from senior departmental staff
15.To ensure that all incidents, near misses, accidents and other undue occurrences are documented and reported to the line manager/person in charge in accordance with current policies
16.To undertake risk assessments as requested by the line manager
17.To communicate effectively with all patients and staff within own department and within the Hospital/satellite unit
18.To take part in the orientation, training and education of junior/new members of staff
19.To participate in the development and evaluation of new techniques in the Imaging department in consultation with other professional staff and Hospital management
20.To assist with monthly stock control processes
21.Ensure all examination charges are captured on a on a daily basis
22.To ensure full compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998
23.To undertake routine QA testing of equipment and QA testing of equipment post service/repair before completing a documented handover
