Position Summary: Paediatric Physiotherapists at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children and also The Wellington Hospital, are required to work weekends and bank holidays on a bank contract. The only specialities are Paediatric, Obstetric and Gynaecology inpatients.

General
Responsibility:

To assess, plan, deliver and implement a high standard of physiotherapy care to inpatients and outpatients.

To provide management, support and leadership to all staff in conjunction with the deputy manager and physiotherapy manager.

To effectively and efficiently provide a high standard of physiotherapy care/treatment to children in the areas of respiratory care, neuro-rehabilitation and orthopaedics in the inpatient, outpatient and hydrotherapy settings.

Work and communicate effectively within the MDT

Support anxious parents/ patients; assist in the understanding of the effects of hospitalisation and the necessity for outpatient physiotherapy.

Participate in the progressive development of children’s services with the MDT

Participate and assist in education programmes within the MDT and physiotherapy departments.

Plan care/treatment using evidence based clinical practice

Support the physiotherapy department in providing an inpatient service to Obstetrics and gynaecology.

Take part in the on call, weekend and bank holiday service.

Requirements Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy. HPC and CSP registration.
Minimum of four years post registration experience.
