Superintendent Radiographer (US & X-ray)
Wellington Hospital

* To ensure that all examinations are carried out to the highest standards
and provide a high standard of diagnostic imaging and efficiency for our
users.

* To provide professional leadership in the day-to-day running of the UK &
general x-ray departments.

* To maintain a professional image of the US & general x-ray departments in
relation to all patient care.

* To ensure efficient day-to-day running of the Imaging Department
organising the efficacious utilisation of staff and resources. This will
include:
- staffing levels, skills mixes and working arrangements
- induction, training and development of staff
- disciplinary action as appropriate

* To work closely with the Radiologists in setting up new policies and
protocols for all techniques and organise with the Radiologists,
techniques appropriate to each patient request.

* To work with the Radiology Manager to establish clinical audit and
clinical governance processes.

* Ensure all staff comply with company, hospital and departmental protocols.

* Maintain a safe environment for all staff, visitors and patients.

* Manage and prioritise the workload.

* Promote and develop the service and assist the Radiology Manager in the
strategic and business planning of the service.

* Maintain and develop high standards of clinical expertise and undertake
further training and study in order to keep abreast of developments.

* Train and supervise rotating staff, providing clinical direction.

* Co-ordinate preventative maintenance programmes and maintain records.

* Report critical incidents.

* To participate in shift rotation.

* To be the PACS champion and RPS for the US & general x-ray departments.

* Any other duties as requested by the Radiology Manager
