Position Summary: The Outpatients Administration team is looking to recruit administration assistants for its
expanding out-patients department. Based in three buildings on the London Bridge
site and in another close to the city of London, at Old Broad Street, the department offers a wide variety of medical procedures and specialist clinics.

General
Responsibility:

As an administration assistant, you will be covering reception desks by welcoming patients into the department, taking telephone inquiries and liaising with consultants to make sure the clinic is running smoothly. You will also register patients onto Meditech ensuring the information captured is accurate and entered correctly, in addition you will use registration reports to spot registration errors and correct any accounts so that they can be billed. You will also work in our appointments office, where we book patients into appointments, book rooms for the consultants to hold ad hoc clinics in, and pull together all clinic lists for the subsequent day.

Please note that the hours of work follow a shift pattern which ranges from 8 – 4pm to 12 – 8pm, Monday – Friday with some Saturday shifts 9 – 1pm. You will also be expected to work in all areas of the department on a rotation basis.

Requirements In order to be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record of excellent customer service skills, dealing face to face and over the phone with customers, and of dealing with demanding situations. You will also have a keen eye for detail, a polite telephone manner and be competent in MS Office packages; some experience of working in the healthcare sector would be advantageous. The most desirable candidate will have a proactive approach to their workload; will demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and to provide a 1st class service.
