General
Responsibility:

The Dietetic department consists of 3 Dietitians and HCA has a total of 11 Dietitians across all sites. We work closely as a group and meet bi-monthly working on projects and developing the Nutrition Steering Committee.
You will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective service to consultants, nurses and liaising with other health professionals. You will provide dietetic support to 13 critical care beds, the oncology and neurology wards and be an active member of the Nutrition Team, ensuring the safe delivery of TPN within the hospital. As a key member of a friendly team you will be at the forefront of service developments. You will be expected to represent the dietetic service at specific clinical meetings, contribute to internal and/or external training programmes, and be involved in clinical service development including guideline and policy work.

You will support the Head of Dietetics in developing and enhancing the existing high quality service and will be expected to help manage the day to day running of the department in their absence.

Continuous professional development is encouraged and supported through the possibility of undertaking further post graduate qualifications. As a member of the team you will be actively involved in student training jointly with the NHS.

Requirements This is an excellent dietetic role in a supportive, well-resourced environment where you will be encouraged to develop both personally and professionally. Applicants must hold a Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent and have significant post registration relevant clinical experience. Experience within nutrition support, oncology and critical care is essential. Experience in renal would be an advantage.

You must be HPC and BDA registered and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team is essential.
