Position Summary:	You will have significant experience in the IVF field and will require good organisational and leadership skills. Responsible for the scheduling and administering of patient treatment cycles you will also liaise with GP’s/consultants to arrange prescription and drug administration. You will also act as a positive role model in the Nursing department. You must be an NMC registered nurse with relevant experience in an IVF Setting and be fully conversant with the HFEA code of practice. Salary range: £29,939 - £33,907 per annum
General Responsibility:	•Assist in the co-ordination of activities within the Unit. •To liaise with clinicians, nurses and paramedical staff to enhance patients’ treatment and care. •To carry out clinical duties in a professional and compassionate manner and in accordance with HCA International and HFEA guidelines. •To help maintain the clinical area so that it is safe and welcoming for patients, staff and visitors. •To prepare for and assist with the smooth running of the clinic ensuring a high standard of nursing care. •Organise and participate in periodic patient information evenings for couples about to embark on IVF treatment. •Be responsible for the scheduling of patient treatment cycles, liaising with GP’s to arrange prescription and drug administration. •To liaise with satellite clinics and provide information and support to their patients. •Out of hours emergency phone cover – Rotational. •To have an awareness of the hospital financial and budgeting strategies. •To organise and ensure the smooth running of Mr Abdalla’s general gynaecology operating list. •To review nursing practice and up-date in line with the HCA International and HFEA guidelines. •To ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with the NMC for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting. •To be responsible for the update and return of outcome and treatment forms to the HFEA. •To enter patient information and treatment cycles on the computer and maintain and update as required. •To assist with the smooth running of the ovum donation programme. •To be responsible for taking blood and labelling correctly. •To identify and report complaints, accidents and incidents to the Unit Co-ordinator according to hospital policy. •To attend and assist with the organisation of the monthly Open Evenings. •Regularly deputise for the Unit Sister, providing the management and leadership in her absence. •Support and act as a role model for junior staff. •Assist in audit and quality assessment procedures, including risk assessment. •Make efficient use of available resources with regard to budgetary constraints. •Maximise revenue capture from patient care. •Attend and participate in departmental meetings as required. •Carry the Emergency phone as required on a rotational basis.
Requirements	The successful candidate must be NMC registered with relevant experience in an IVF setting and be fully conversant with the HFEA code of practice.
