Position Summary: To provide managerial and clinicalleadership to all technical staff, ensuring a high quality technical service is provided within budgetary limits.
General
Responsibility:

-To ensure a high standard of technical experrise i maintained, in line with hospital protocols and standards
-To develop and improve standards and methods for monitoring effectiveness
-To lead and motivate a team of technicians
-To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team team to maximise clinical eficiency through develpment of policy and practice
-To ensure efficient and effective use of budgets
-To plan, implement and evaluate the work of the team
-Assist in staff recruitment, appraisal and development
-Ensure adequate orientation and training for technical staff
-Ensure equipment is appropriate and in good working order
-Facilitate the use of IT to enahnce patient care
-Maintain records on the use of resources
-Accurate record keeping
-To deputise for the Catheter Laboratories Manager in their absence
-Delivery of Non-Invasive technical services to a level of excellence
-To keep abreast of current clinical practice and new developments in all aspects of cardiology
-To ensure that all technical staff are familiar with, and implement all, clinical policies and attend unit meetings.
-To liaise closely with Consultant Cardiologists to ensure individual requirements are met and promote a professional working relationship at all times.

Requirements -Good spoken and written English
-BTec/OC in sciences or equivalent NVQ
-Additional specialist training/knowledge as appropriate
-Experience in relevant areas
-Management/training experience
-Management/supervisory skills
-Accuracy and attention to detail
