Position Summary: To perform a range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures as required throughout both the department and the hospital, managing patient priority as appropriate.
General
Responsibility:

This key role will see you providing a high quality diagnostic imaging service in a wide variety of clinical environments and to a wide range of patient presentations. You will have the clinical expertise to report your own scans. You will have the skills required to supervise and assist support staff in both the service delivery and their own development needs. You will also possess the skills needed to provide patients with empathy and emotional support.

Requirements The successful candidate will have a BSC or equivalent in Diagnostic Imaging plus a post-graduate qualification in diagnostic medical ultrasound. The ideal candidate will be registered with the HPC and have at least two years post qualification experience in ultrasound (preferably in Obstetrics and Gynaecology). This role involves liaising with consultants and external referrers, thus good communication skills are essential. As the post holder, you will be required to actively participate in the regulation of the department in areas such as Health & Safety, audit and risk management and to practice a high level of customer care. A high level of professional and technical standards should be maintained through participation in personal CPD.
