Position Summary: To manage the Cardiac Catheter department ensuring that the highest standards of patient care are maintained. To provide professional leadership, and managerial co-ordination, of the department.
General
Responsibility:

- To provide clinical leadership and direction
- To deliver clinical services within budget and meeting business objectives
- Lead the audit and QA initiatives
- Plan, allocate and evaluate the work of the team
- Facilitate multi disciplinary team working through agreed objectives of the appraisal process and the development and maintenance of good working relationships
- Respect and ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Risk assessment and management, ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors, staff and colleagues
- Recruitment, selection and management of staff
- Support junior staff and assist in their development
- Participate and facilitate projects as required
- To represent the ward/unit at department meetings
Requirements - Post Registration qualification in Cardiac Catheter Care
- 5 years management experience
- Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures
- Early recognition of clinical problems taking appropriate action
- Deal with enquiries/complaints
- Maintain a high level of clinical practice
- To take responsibility for own practice, in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct and hospital guidelines/protocols
