Position Summary: - To act as Clinical Nurse Specialist in Breast Care for HCA utilising the Macmillan Cancer Relief name.
- To manage own patient case load providing information, advice and psychological support to patients with breast cancer
- To act as a resource to patients, carers and staff
- To assist the COO and the CNO in achieving the company and hospitals business goals
General
Responsibility:

- Act as Clinical Nurse Specialist in Breast Care providing direction for staff on professional and legal responsibilities in advanced Oncology Nursing and Breast Care practice to ensure consistent, safe practice

- Follow current developments in medical and nursing practices in order to maintain and improve professional knowledge and competencies

- Provide clear and consistent leadership in issues relating to Breast Care, maintaining an efficient and enlightened nursing and health care team

- Identify, assess and meet the educational needs of the patient and their family
- Along with team develop a teaching programme on issues relating to Breast Care and relevant subjects.
- Identify your and your team’s training requirements in relation to Breast Care and other relevant subjects

- Ensure practice is evidence-based and monitor service delivery through the audit process
- Identify potential areas for research and initiate projects where appropriate

Requirements Essential
- RGN
- ENB 237, A11, 998
- Evidence of further study
- 5 years relevant post registration experience
- 3 years in Oncology
- Surgical experience
- Breast Care experience
- Experience in symptom management
- Counseling experience
