Position Summary: To provide an administrative service to patients, consultants and third parties, and to facilitate the overall care and financial aspects of the self-pay scheme within the hospital.
General
Responsibility:

 To liaise with patients, consultants, medical secretaries, GP’s and the general public on all aspects of admission and care in relation to the self pay scheme including pricing

 To provide/distribute relevant self-pay documents to patients prior to admission

 To check eligibility of patients for the self-pay scheme via the pre-assessment team

 To book any necessary tests/investigations for high risk patients

 To maintain accurate and up to date information on all patients admitted under the self pay scheme

 To maintain up to date knowledge on price agreements and billing methods

 To maintain up to date knowledge of consultants accepting to participate in the self pay scheme

 To maintain accurate and up to date information for the self pay brochure and distribute any amendments on a timely basis to all internal/external parties

 To answer telephone and written enquiries

 To manage all queries via the self pay website

 To undertake rotational role, encompassing all duties within patient administration when necessary

Requirements Good general level of education
Previous experience in similar role
Numerate
Computer literate
Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures
