Position Summary: This role will provide clinical and professional leadership to a busy surgical ward. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a quality service to all stakeholders and proactively promote the department within Lister and HCA.
General
Responsibility:

To be a highly visible leader and role model to all nurses within the team

To liaise in a professional manner with internal and external customers

to investigate incidents and complaints

To deputise for the Deputy CNO or CNO when necessary

To ensure staff comply with all policies

To manage the department with an agreed budget and devise and implement a service plan

To demonstrate excellent clinical practice at all times and to be accountable for own practice

Manage staff training and development

Requirements *First level registration at Diploma or Degree level
*5 years post registration experience, 2 of which will have been at Grade G or equivalent
*Post basic qualification in dlinical speciality relevant to practice area
*In possession of or working towards first level degree
*Teaching and Assessing and or Mentorship qualification
* A management qualification is desirable

*Excellent organisational and management skills
*Professionlal
*Commitment to personal development
