Position Summary: Applications are invited for clinical fellowship positions based in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at this leading London independent hospital. The position is intended as middle grade cover to the consultant staff by suitably qualified intensivists, physicians, anaesthetists or surgeons wishing to extend their experience in critical care. The Harley Street PICU is a mixed Cardiac and General PICU with 12 beds, and regularly provides advanced multiple organ support.

General
Responsibility:

The position is well suited to doctors in training with Intensive Care Medicine as a primary or secondary specialty who are:-

i. Undertaking research
ii. Overseas doctors wishing to explore a career in Britain
iii. Awaiting permanent position or in between job attachments or rotations

Applications are particularly welcome from doctors wishing to undertake research.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to interact with a number of senior consultants from many specialties including, amongst others, Surgery, Cardiology, Oncology, Anaesthesia and Intensive Care and to further develop the interpersonal skills required to work in a multi-disciplinary setting. The successful applicant will be responsible to the Consultant Intensivist.

It is expected the successful applicant will also form part of the resuscitation/medical emergency team.

Requirements Applicants must have full registration with the General Medical Council, have current EPLS training, at least 18 months experience in their primary specialty, good airway skills, six months in Intensive Care Medicine and at least part I of the primary specialty professional exam (FRCA, MRCS, MRCP or equivalent). Preference will be given to those with a full professional degree.
