Position Summary: • To assess, implement and evaluate the care needs of patients undergoing endoscopic procedures
• Provide the Consultant with skilled assistance.
• To assist with the processing, storage, tracking and use of all flexible endoscopes in accordance with current regulations (HTM2030 & DB(2005))
• The post-holder will contribute to an environment that is conducive to the delivery and promotion of an excellent service providing outstanding patient care.
General
Responsibility:

You will be working in the Endoscopy Unit which is a state of the art facility with excellent equipment and staff. It forms part of the Day Surgery Unit.

The Endoscopy Unit is busy and also developing very fast. We also undertake other diagnostic tests like Bravo, Oesophageal Manometry and Video Capsule Endoscopy.

In addition to the Endoscopy Unit, the Day Surgery unit has an Operating Theatre performing day case and overnight procedures plus a 20 bedded ward, 5 of which have overnight capabilities. The unit receives excellent feedback from both the patients and consultants.

There is an opportunity to develop your skills in any of the other areas of your choice within the unit.

The unit is ever changing and expects members of the team to be dynamic, flexible and adaptable.

Requirements RGN Level 1 (current registration with NMC)
At least 6 months experience working in a GI endoscopy unit or equivalent environment.
