Position Summary: Applications are invited for the position of Surgical Residential Medical Officer to join this busy independent sector, acute care hospital.

Based on two sites, the North and South buildings, there are Resident Medical Officers in each. The South building houses orthopaedics, plastic surgery, neurosurgery/neurology, general surgery and gynaecology. In addition, there are registrars for Intensive Care, covering the 18 ITU beds as well as the Cardiac Arrest team.

The South building requires a RMO to provide 24 hour coverage and the current rota is based on 12 hour shifts, with one week on and one week off, rotating through a week of nights. This is, however, flexible and can be modified with the agreement of the post holders and management within the confines of the European Working Time Directive. The night rota is supported by a hospital at night system with a senior nurse screening all calls. The on-call accommodation is in a flat shared with the duty North building RMO. Accommodation is available and study leave with expenses will be given in lie with current NHS levels.
Requirements Surgical Resident Medical Officer South building Posts Full-time. We are seeking experienced SHO’s/Registrars to join the team.

Research Fellows able to work full-time will also be considered. Current ALS/ATLS certification is essential. The post would suit a doctor requiring time to study for post-graduate examinations and those wishing to experience private health care.
