Position Summary: Due to the promotion of the present post holder, an opportunity now exists for the position of Biomedical Scientist 3 in the Biochemistry department at HCA Laboratories.
General
Responsibility:

As an enthusiastic and innovative person, you will be expected to take the lead in managing the day -to -day running of the Biochemistry department and liaise with the Section Head in all technical and managerial aspects of the section. The post holder will also deputise for the Section Head in his absence.

Although specialising in Biochemistry, you will be expected to also work in Haematology, Transfusion and Microbiology, so previous multi-disciplinary training would be an advantage. However, we do offer a full training programme. The position is based in our Wimpole Street site but there is a requirement also to work in our satellite laboratory at the London Bridge Hospital.
Requirements The post holder will need the following Qualifications:

• Biomedical Scientist State Registered with the Health Professions Council
• Broad based Biochemistry knowledge with at least 4 years experience in a senior position
• Hold FIBMS and/or appropriate MSc
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
