Position Summary: This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to provide maternity leave cover heading our aseptic unit.

As part of this role, the successful applicant will be responsible for preparation of cytotoxic chemotherapy to both in and out patients, provision of pharmacy services to the chemotherapy day care unit and oncology ward, environmental and microbiological monitoring, maintenance and validation of the unit, fulfilling audit requirements, updating SOPs, training rotational pharmacy technicians and pre-registration pharmacists and representing London Bridge Hospital on specific oncology forums.
General
Responsibility:

You will be expected to continually monitor and improve the patient experience and the operational efficiency of the aseptic unit, providing proactive input to meetings, both oncology and general, and assisting in shaping and developing policies and procedures.

You must be able to register as a Pharmacy Technician with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, have a minimum of 3 years experience in cytotoxic reconstitution and a sound knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is mandatory.

You will work closely with the Oncology Pharmacists to provide a service of the highest standard and the Senior Dispensary Pharmacy Technician to ensure sufficient technical cover at all times and the continuing education and mentoring of technical staff.
