Entering the UK
The International Recruitment department in conjunction with our immigration consultants can give you advice about entering the UK should you need a visa; want to extend a current UK working visa or about bringing your spouse/dependants/family to the UK.
It is important to always remember to check your eligibility to work in the UK before accepting an offer of employment.

Some Information:
New entrant EEA Applicants (Since May 2004)
(Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Slovenia, Slovakia and Hungary) If you are applying from your country or have recently arrived in the UK you are required to register with the UK Home Office Worker Registration Scheme within 3 months of starting employment. Once you have been working legally in the UK for 12 months without a break you will have full rights of free movement and will no longer need to register on the Worker Registration Scheme. You will then be able to apply for a residence permit confirming your right to live and work in the UK *Malta and Cyprus nationals are not required to register on the Worker Registration Scheme.

Romania and Bulgaria (Since 1st January 2007)
You have the right as EU citizens to move and reside freely in any EU member state however in order to work in the UK you will need to obtain authorisation (unless exempt) before starting employment - in most cases an employer will firstly need to get approval through the work permit system and then an individual can apply for authorisation in the form of an Accession Worker Card.

Working Holiday Makers
A working holiday visa has been widely used by the Commonwealth countries (e.g. Australia, New Zealand, and Canada) where a person aged between 17 and 30 can come to the UK for an extended holiday for up to 2 years and enter into employment. Recent changes have meant that you can only work for 12 months in total.
Important:
The UK is currently going through a change with its immigration system and will announce changes in 2008 about replacing the current system with a points based system as the government hopes to make the immigration system more streamlined.
